Open Letters
Congress

December 19, 1998
Fairlawn, Ohio

Dear elected officials,

The real outrage is the enormous amount of money spent by the special prosecutor in his investigation. That is my money, the money I give but have no say in how it is spent. You all sicken me. You are taken with your own self-importance - you don't represent anyone other than yourselves and your own interests.

I took a ride through Carrol county in mid-southern Ohio last week. I saw people, Americans, living in poverty. I saw the quiet look of desperation on the faces of these americans. Shame on you all for spending what could be a wonderful legacy for the children of this county- what could be a better life.

I have lost all faith in you and I am not sure I will ever bother voting again.

David Shawlson
