Open Letters to The American People

11/3/98

To the American People:

I am a 36-year-old self-employed and married woman. With three college educations, I feel that I know my way around in this world and am an intelligent thinker.

All this controversy over President Clinton's infidelities is, in my opinion, a great mass hype and neglects to look at basic human issues.

Let's face it; President Clinton did make a mistake or two. But who doesn't? Are you, the one who's calling for impeachment so loudly, perfect? Are you, the one who's judging the President sexual conduct, so holy and above everyone?

The President may be the leader of our nation, but he is also human. It would be unreasonable to expect him to be beyond any human action, conduct, or mistake

As far as the impeachment.. yes, he may have lied about the affair. Again, let's be honest with ourselves - which married man wouldn't lie when caught in an affair?

I love my husband. I would be hurt if I found out he'd been cheating on me. But I would be royally p.o.'ed if he lost his job over it. Don't we have any regard for privacy left in this country?

Sue
