1. Final Words

It's official, we're done on Monday. I regret that I haven't been a very active member these last few days, and I am sorry if I missed any posts or responses directed at myself, but I have been too busy lately with school and work to keep up.
I've learned much these last few weeks. Yes, I still do not like Clinton, but at least I understand where his supporters are coming from and I agree this whole trial is pretty stupid. I'm glad we were able to expand away from Presidential politics into other fields because it gave us all a chance to put all of our views and opinions out into a forum where we could discuss them without sex, race, public speaking ability, etc. getting in the way.
I want to thank everyone who took part and made this a dynamic group that I enjoyed being a part of.
I've posted it before, but just in case anyone wants it and missed it, my e-mail address is mark@earnestdesigns.com

Thank you all and God Bless
Mark Earnest

2. For what it is worth...

...I have very much enjoyed this group. I consider myself a bit of a novice at the internet. That said, this is the most meaningful internet experience I have had.

Incidentally, I am planning to send a message to George magazine, suggesting that they contact RC about utilizing this dynamic formally. Currently, George is only listed on AOL, which I will not stand. If George gets a real (un-AOL-filtered) website and saddles up with RC, they could bring in guest stars to enter the dialogue, set new seeds questions from the AP wire, and generally stir up the thing more directly. I think it would be very exciting!

I'm sending my message to letters@georgemag.com, the letters to the editor.

I've enjoyed the experience of the group. (Only two months!) I have felt many things about your words. I have known my own fears more closely; I appreciate yours. I wish I could type as fast as you. I wish you all the best in all your endeavors.

3. THANK YOU

This forum has sort of been like therapy, or to put it better,a exercise in life & learning.I will be the first one to admit that my major weakness, charatecter flaw if you may,is that my communication skills are far too passive. I have always had great difficulties expressing myself. This is due to combination of maybe lack of confidence & a fear that if I say what's on my mind,I may step on someones toes or say something I will later regret. To even think about asserting myself has always frightened me.It is very frustrating because I have all this revelations floating around in my head, but to use them in some kind of oral debate or confrontation interupts my train of thought which often drowns out the passion behind the words that I desired to express. To assert myself in group discussions such as this one as helped me so much as I have a newfounded freedom of speaking my mind without fear of being misjudged or discriminated.Friends and family closest to me have always preached that I should stand up for myself more, speak my mind, tell'em like it is without fearing of what others will think of me.I'm proud to say that these same people are now telling me they are observing a difference in me over the last few months in that I seem more at ease when expressing myself,I am becoming a little more assertive.I now have ATTITIUDE and it feels great!I still have a long way to go,but this was sort of a New Years resolution for me,and thanks to each and every one of you,I'm off to a good start.I would also like to thank R.C. for allowing me the opportunity to work on my communication skills by exchanging ideas with you fine people. If it was'nt for this forum, I would have probably blown a lot of money on one of those silly 'self-help,chicken soup for the soul'kind of classes.I have enjoyed exchanging ideas with each and every one of you.I've learned so much, whether I've agreed or disagreed, your willingness to open your hearts and your minds has taught me so much.Thank you so much for the learning adventure.I wish you all the best of luck!

4. no celebrities please!

This has been great. We don't need so-called celebrities to put in their 2 cents. Unless perhaps they're great minds as opposed to bodies. AGain the problems of poor seem to preoccupy me daily. Here's a short of list of areas I'm concerened with and working on
1)health care rationing. Conflict between stockholders expecting profits and patients expecting treatments.
2) Racisim. How do we approach this?
3) Trying to develop a more nurturing society?
What else is there but LOVE?
Here's my e mail address. Don't be timid in using it, and as for my part, I'll print out all the pages so I'll have wonderful memories and all the contacts and addresses you guys posted.

This has been a real intellectual joy ride! As a shy woman, who hardly ever speaks in public, I have found this forum liberating and empowering. Thank you all for being such stimulating and thought-provoking sparring partners. And, thanks to Reality Check, for providing this forum. I will miss you all.

Well, fellow Group 7 members, this has been quite an experience for me. I feel that we started down this road together, decided to make a few detours along the way, lost many travelling companions, chose to continue together awhile longer, but now this leg of our journey is done and we continue on our individual paths.

To all of you who have put up with me, my sincere gratitude. When I signed up I had an image of a bunch of written statements regarding the issues. What we had was so much more! The words became people; individuals who could agree or disagree on one point, contributing from their own experiences. I appreciate the honesty and openness displayed by all. It isn't always easy.

Thanks to all of you and to Reality Check. Hope to be in touch again. May good health and happiness be your companions the rest of the way.
I'll miss you guys!

This has been a wonderful experience, thanks to all the thoughful and diverse posts from people whom I have learned to respect.

Thanks to RC for putting this group together.

Now it is time to say goodbye. Seems as though the time went too quickly.

We have gone through an important time in American history and have emerged with an understanding of opposing thoughts and opinions.

Take care

Be well

Have fun
